There is a Jotunn in the bar, wearing a blue shirt and green vest, sitting at a table by the Window and humming to himself as he builds a house of cards. A pair of scars trail up from the corner of his mouth, one broad and puckered, the other thinner, hooking into the shape of a smile.

He seems very pleased with himself.

There's another Jötunn in the bar today, wearing a Dulce & Gabbana shirt and wondering where this other... well, let's face it, rather runty Jötunn chap came from, and why he's dressed like a human.

Loki knows why he's a complete shortarse, when it comes to these things, so the sudden appearance of someone else who sort of looks like him is rather unexpected.

Really, really unexpected, actually.

He always has been more curious than cautious, which is why he finds himself standing near Joker.

"Is this seat taken?" he asks.

He looks up, cocks his head, and

smiiiiles.

"Nope!" he says brightly.

Loki more or less looks like Joker right now, the only noticeable difference being his horns, which are just starting to get long enough to pose a serious problem in the shower.

It's the first indication Loki has that something might be a bit... off.

He sits down casually as you like, not even trying to hide his curiosity.

"I wasn't aware travel between the Realms had been re-opened," he says.

"Maybe it didn't," the stranger suggests, turning back to his tower of cards and carefully balancing the ace of clubs on top.

Mmm, yep. Something's definitely not as it should.

"What are you?" Loki asks, foregoing tact altogether.

The answer should be obvious, but apparently, it's not.

Heh.

He rummages through the pile of unused cards until he finds a joker, puts a finger on it to drag it out, spins it in place, and slides it across the table to Loki.

Loki looks at it and frowns.

"Is that supposed to mean something?"

Because it doesn't.

"Guess nnnnot."

His tongue flicks out over his lips; he picks up the two of hearts and the six of diamonds and arranges them in a carefully balanced triangle atop the tower.

"Do you have a name?" he asks.

Loki thinks he might know what it is, but he's not going to make assumptions. Especially since this one's rather less... female than when he last saw him.

He reaches out without looking and taps the card.

Yeah, nope.

"I see."

He reaches out and grabs the funny stranger's hand, humming discontentedly at the far-too-warm temperature of his skin.

"And just who did you piss off to deserve this?"

He has a pretty good idea, actually.

"Mmmm-mm," he hums; looks up at Loki again; smiles.

"He lllooked a lot like you, actually. Yoooou don't have an - evil twin running around, do ya?"

"As a matter of fact, I think I do," Loki says stiffly.

He lets go of the stranger's hand.

"Wellll, there ya go." His smile widens, creasing the scars on either side.

Loki doesn't know much about his evil twin, except for the whole evil thing. He has no idea that in another Universe, his father is capable of maintaining lies and deceptions of the most personal, intimate sort.

He has no idea that in another Universe, Loki tried to commit genocide against his own people.

"That still doesn't answer my question," he says.

"Doesn't it?"

"No," he says flatly.

He shrugs.

"Mmmmwhat was the question again?"

"What did you do to him?" Loki asks simply. "This isn't you. You're too warm, and I can't feel any magic in you."

"Oh, y'know," he says, tipping his head to one side and grinning, "I flirt, he flirts back."

"Hel of a way to flirt," Loki says. "I'd call it a curse, if I didn't know better."

"Mm, he would, too." Gleefully, "The first time I hit on him, he turned my underwear into ants."

"Have you tried subtlety?" Loki asks. "Men are killed for such behaviour on Asgard."

"What would be the fun in that? Anyway, he likes me," the Joker says confidently. "He's just got a funny way of showing it."

"Oh, yes. I can see that," Loki says. "Clearly."

The sarcasm is thick with this one.
